Green Mountain Reservoir (GMR) resides approximately 20 miles north of Silverton and I-70 on Colorado State Highway (SH) 9. In the midst of the Gore and Williams Fork Mountain Ranges and Blue River Valley, GMR is a fishing and boating paradise. Trout and Kokanee Salmon populate the waters for all fishing enthusiasts. Boating is a welcome activity as long as water levels permit.
Southwest of GMR is Lower Cataract Lake along County Road (CR) 1700. A quiet, serene setting with its own share of fishing. Take time to enjoy Cataract falls tumbling 300 feet into Cataract Creek.
The Blue River feeds GMR from the south and exits at north. Touted for large trout, the Blue River brings anglers from far and wide to catch their fill.
